Hearing loss is the third most common health problems in the United States.<\/p>\n

Approximately 36 million Americans suffer from hearing loss.  More than half are younger than age 65 – according to American Academy of Audiology<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Signs you may have a hearing loss:<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Difficulty hearing people talk in noisy environments such as a resturant, shopping mall, in a car, or at the movie theater<\/li>\n
    • People seem to “mumble” all the time<\/li>\n
    • Family, friends, or colleagues often have to repeat themselves when speaking to you<\/li>\n
    • Having trouble hearing people when they are not facing you or are in another room<\/li>\n
    • Having trouble following conversations<\/li>\n
    • Experiencing ringing, buzzing, or hissing sounds in your ears<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      What causes hearing loss:<\/h4>\n

      • Exposure to excessive noise<\/li>\n
      • Ear infections, trauma, or ear disease<\/li>\n
      • Harm of the inner ear and ear drum from contact with a foreign object (cotton swabs, fingers, bugs)<\/li>\n
      • Illness or certain medications<\/li>\n
