Repeated exposure to noise above 85 decibels can cause noise induced hearing loss. In addition to live concerts at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aladdin-theater.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aladdin Theater<\/a>, other common sounds that could contribute to hearing loss include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Sporting events<\/li><li>Riding motorcycles or snowmobiles<\/li><li>Hunting<\/li><li>Mowing the lawn<\/li><li>Listening to music at a high volume through headphones or earbuds<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signs Musicians Should Watch Out For<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since playing music regularly puts you at a higher risk for hearing loss, it\u2019s important to be aware of the following signs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/entsalem.com\/hearing\/tinnitus\/tinnitus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Experiencing tinnitus.<\/a> If you have a ringing, buzzing or other kind of noise in your ears after playing a show, it could be tinnitus.<\/li><li>Exposure to loud noise causes discomfort or pain.<\/li><li>It\u2019s harder to hear in one ear than the other. While hearing loss often occurs in both ears, it can sometimes only affect one, or one ear can be much more affected than the other.<\/li><li>Your bandmates or others have noticed that you\u2019ve started to play off-key.<\/li><li>Trouble concentrating or following conversations.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prevention and Treatment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a musician, it\u2019s important to wear earplugs or other protective devices when playing or listening to loud music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any symptoms of hearing loss, <a href=\"https:\/\/entsalem.com\/hearing\/hearing-loss\/hearing-tests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">make an appointment with an audiologist to get a hearing test<\/a>.
