Clark R. Thompson

MD

Dr. Thompson’s philosophy of care centers on developing relationships with patients based on trust and open communication. This partnership helps him create personalized treatment plans to meet each patient’s unique needs and goals, while providing conscientious and empathetic care.

Dr. Thompson has practiced in Salem for 29 years, providing high-quality ENT care to patients of all ages. His special research includes sinusitis and asthma in children.

A native of Iowa, Dr. Thompson is married to Kathy and they have two children and one grandchild. He delights in spending time with his young grandson. In his spare time he enjoys downhill skiing, road cycling and mountain biking.

Joseph Allan

MD, FACS

Dr. Allan’s philosophy of care involves developing an individualized treatment plan to support his patients’ ability to enjoy their lives to the fullest. He brings warmth and humor to each patient’s visit to help reduce any anxiety. He particularly enjoys interacting with children because their perspective helps him see things in a fresh way each day.

Dr. Allan practiced medicine while serving the United States Air Force at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, attaining the rank of major. He returned to Salem in 1990 after an honorable discharge, beginning his private practice with Willamette ENT.

A native of Nevada, Dr. Allan and his wife Karen have four daughters, one son, six grandchildren, two dogs and cat and are the founders of Andante Vineyard west of Salem, where you will often find him driving his tractor on weekends and summer evenings. Other hobbies include playing the piano, exercise, travel and restoring native habitats.

Gary J. Nishioka

MD, DMD, FARS, FAAOA

Dr. Nishioka emphasizes patient education and embracing ongoing, up-to-date learning as the foundation of providing each individual with a well-rounded and comprehensive care plan. He provides respect and compassion to each of his patients. Because Otolaryngology includes a wide-range of diseases and conditions affecting every age, he believes the diversity of the practice makes it rewarding.

Dr. Nishioka’s broad career, illuminated by his extensive journal publications, has spanned from earning a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, a Medical Degree, and completing three residencies and one fellowship. In addition, he retired honorably as a commander with the U.S. Navy/ Medical and Dental unit after serving from 1992-2002.

A native of Oregon, Dr. Nishioka and his wife, Linda, have one son and a few pets. On weekends you may catch him out with his dog at one of the local parks. His interests include cycling, mountaineering, skiing, travel and fine art — especially impressionist paintings and Japanese swords. In addition, he holds a black belt in martial arts.

A native of Salem, Dr. Hiebert enjoys spending time with his family, baking pies, fly-fishing, and hiking in the Northwest. His wife, Rachael, is a pediatrician in Salem and together they have four children.
