Following your hearing test, your audiologist will determine whether you are a candidate for hearing aids. If it is determined you will benefit from wearing them, we will schedule a hearing aid evaluation during which your audiologist will help you determine which hearing aid is best for you.
With today’s technology we can consider hearing aids as little computers with different levels of technology. You and your audiologist together will determine which tier of technology best suits you based on your lifestyle and listening needs. The more advanced the technology, the better suited the hearing aid is for difficult listening situations. Hearing aids also come in different styles.
Hearing Aid Styles
Hearing aids can be worn behind the ear (BTE) or in the ear (ITE). Recent technology advances now allow more flexibility in your choice of BTE or ITE hearing aids, with a range of sizes and fits for both. Again, you and your audiologist will determine which style is best for you based on your hearing loss, lifestyle, comfort, accessibility and budget.
